September 3, 2004 -- 5thStreet will be closed from E. Reserve Street west to the Fort Vancouver parking lot. Visitors can stroll through classic cars dating back to the early 1900s and aircraft from the early days of flight through WWII.
This year classic wooden boats will be added to the antique display as well as several farm tractors as we try to “step back in time.” KISN’s DJ, Scott Tom, will be playing the oldies, but goodies and three of the Blazer Dancers will be on hand from 2 to 3 PM. Shanahan’s Pub & Grill will provide food and beverage throughout the day as well as other specialty vendors. Also featured this year will be the Cascade Warbirds WWII aircraft and several historic military reenactment groups.
The air museum will be open and there will be lots of games with prizes for the children as well as Gil Coughlin with his incredible flying ornithopters. Cap’n Mac will be providing open cockpit biplane rides in his 1929 Travelair biplane and Aero maintenance will provide scenic flights for a dollar a minute throughout the day. Cost of admission is $3.00 per person.
A great family day with a unique display of classic and antique autos, boats and airplanes. Don’t miss this popular community event at Pearson Air Museum, 1115 E. 5thStreet, Vancouver, Washington on 11 September 2004. For more information call (360) 694-7026 or visit http://www.pearsonairmuseum.org
